Matthew 25:31 When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:
Mark 8:38 Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.
Luke 9:26 For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he shall come in his own glory, and in his Father's, and of the holy angels.
The Lord returns with saints.
Zechariah 14:5 And ye shall flee to the valley of the mountains; for the valley of the mountains shall reach unto Azal: yea, ye shall flee, like as ye fled from before the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah: and the LORD my God shall come, and all the saints with thee.
1 Thessalonians 3:13 To the end he may stablish your hearts unblameable in holiness before God, even our Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints.
Jude 1:14 And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints,
Revelation 19:1 And after these things I heard a great voice of much
people in heaven, saying, Alleluia; Salvation, and glory, and honour,
and power, unto the Lord our God:
7 Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage
of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.
8 And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen,
clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.
9 And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto
the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true
sayings of God.
14 And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses,
clothed in fine linen, white and clean.
(much people in Rev 19:1 is "polos oclus" also translated "great multitudes" earlier in Rev 7:9 "After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number")
There is a huge theological dispute as to whether the 24 elders in Rev 4-5 are angels or men, likewise with those clothed in white linin who follow our Lord Jesus Christ out of heaven in Rev. 19.
Angels as Men:
Hebrews 13:2 Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.
The angels who took hold of lot are described as "men" in verse 16
Genesis 19:15 And when the morning arose, then the angels hastened
Lot, saying, Arise, take thy wife, and thy two daughters, which are
here; lest thou be consumed in the iniquity of the city.
16 And while he lingered, the men laid hold upon his hand, and
upon the hand of his wife, and upon the hand of his two daughters; the
LORD being merciful unto him: and they brought him forth, and set him without
the city.
Jude, referring to Noah's day, the Nephilim, the offspring of fallen
angels mixing their seed with men.
Jude 1:6 And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left
their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness
unto the judgment of the great day.
Men as Angels:
Matthew 22:30 For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven.
The face of Moses shined brightly as an angel in the Old Testament.
Exodus 34:29-35
Exodus 34:30 And when Aaron and all the children of Israel saw Moses,
behold, the skin of his face shone; and they were afraid to come
nigh him.
2 Corinthians 3:7 But if the ministration of death, written and engraven
in stones, was glorious, so that
the children of Israel could not stedfastly behold the face of Moses
for the glory of his countenance; which glory was to be done away:
At the transfiguration, Jesus appears in glory.
Mark 9:2 And after six days Jesus taketh with him Peter, and James,
and John, and leadeth them up into an high mountain apart by themselves:
and he was transfigured before them.
3 And his raiment became shining, exceeding white as snow; so as
no fuller on earth can white them.
When Stephen, the first saint about to be martyred for the faith testified to the Religious Leaders, he appeared as an angel to them:
Acts 6:15 And all that sat in the council, looking stedfastly on him, saw his face as it had been the face of an angel.
Revelation 22:8 And I John saw these things, and heard them. And when
I had heard and seen, I fell down to worship before the feet of the
angel which shewed me these things.
9 Then saith he unto me, See thou do it not: for I am thy fellowservant,
and of thy brethren the prophets, and of them which keep the sayings
of this book: worship God.
My conclusion is that the descriptive terms of angels and saints are sometimes used interchangably, particularly in reference to men who have been clothed with angelic glory after the rapture, and at the return of Christ at the second coming.
Colossians 3:4 When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.
1 Peter 1:7 That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:
1 Peter 5:4 And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away.
I believe that the Lord will return from heaven with both his angels and his saints. The saints would be people who have been glorified incorruptable at the rapture, seven years before his return.
[1Cor 15:51] Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but
we shall all be changed,
[1Cor 15:52] In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump:
for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible,
and we shall be changed.
[1Cor 15:53] For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this
mortal must put on immortality.
[1Cor 15:54] So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption,
and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to
pass
the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
